The Birth of RASDA

A Brief History:

Reading Awareness Society for Development in Africa (RASDA) is a non-governmental and a non-profit making organization with an unquantifiable passion for the promotion of reading culture in Africa.

RASDA was established on January 17, 2007, and over the years, she had taken great and effective steps to rigorously campaign against the neglect of books especially by children and youths in Nigeria thereby entrenching a Formidable reading habit.

RASDA has also taken giant steps in the training of teachers on strategies to improve reading comprehension and literacy promotion in the classroom.

Our Founder

Mrs Bukola Ladoja is the President and Founder of Reading Awareness Society For Development in Africa (RASDA), a non-governmental and a non-profit making organization with great passion in promoting reading culture for holistic leadership development in Africa.

She had her first degree in Psychology from the University of Lagos (1987), Masters in Publishing and Copyright Studies (MPCS), University of Ibadan (2010), and Certificate in Leadership Development (CLD), Covenant University (2018). She is currently running her Doctoral degree (Phd) in Leadership Development . She also has Certificate in Basic Production from National Broadcast Academy, (Formerly Federal Radio Nigeria Training School), Lagos.

Mrs Ladoja had a stint as a Journalist in 1991 when she worked as a Woman Editor of a defunct Community Newspaper, (CITY MIRROR) from where she started developing her writing skills. In 1992, she established her first Public Relations and Publishing Company, Doves Communications Nigeria Ltd, where her first and second books, THE LEGENDARY PEOPLE OF OYO STATE and READ YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS were published.
